Orange All Around

even though the majority of my nyc wardrobe tens to be blacks, whites and greys, i've been working to incorporate more color into my pieces. and especially with the weather getting colder, i thought it might be a nice change to sport a summery shade yesterday for i meeting i had downtown.

i was really excited to finally wear this dress. my mom bought it at marshall's and gave it to me this past summer. unfortunately at the time it was a bit too tight, but i loved it too much to let it go. so what do you know, i tried it on today and it zipped up completely. so stoked!

i think i'm definitely going to keep wearing some brighter colors this upcoming winter. if anything, i think it just makes the day a little brighter!

Sweater Dress

nyc is expecting some snow flurries this morning. i feel like we just started fall, and now winter's trying to set in?! i guess it also doesn't help that the hallmark is showing holiday movies every weekend and we're already being bombarded by christmas commercials.

but alas, you can't fight the changing seasons, so you've gotta dress for them! one of my favorite winter go-to outfits is a long-sleeved winter dress with black leggings and knee-high boots. you just can't go wrong. it's so easy to put together, and you still look put-together!

what's your go-to winter outfit? stay warm chicas!

My Inner Leopard!

i've always been intimidated by animal print, but always admired those who've worn it proudly (prime example: the ladies from jerseylicious). i've noticed that a lot of my favorite fashion bloggers have been sporting some animal print, but in minimal amounts, specially targeted to their shoes.

britt & whit:

ramshackle glam:

sunny and turquoise:

so i finally decided to try out a pair of my own leopard print heels, which i ordered from lulus. and i've gotta say, i love them! i wore them out friday night, and felt an extra pep in my step. i strongly suggest that if you're a little wary of animal print too, to start out with one small item, like a pair of heels or a belt. fierce!

Hitting all the White Notes

there's just something about warmer weather that makes me yearn to where white. white jeans. white shirts. white sandals. even a crips white handbag will pull a look together. this past weekend, i snagged a pair of enzo angiolini sandals from macys. i just love how the silver plays off the white tones, and the rope elements are such a fun twist. definitely summer-worthy. i wanted to share a few of my white fashion pics from around the web. if you've been sporting white lately, send me some of your pics. i'm always open to fun styling suggestions!

Mad for Steve Madden

it's finally time to start the weekend, and nyc is currently going through a heat wave! it's a good thing i picked up some summer-worthy sandals last weekend from steve madden. not only do they have a beautiful coral shade, but i also saved 50% thanks to an in-store promotion. i can't wait to have them in regular rotation with my summer wardrobe. and for those who are lucky enough to have summer fridays, have an extra cocktail for me!

Must or Lust

i'm going to start a few new series on this blog, so you have something to look forward to on a regular basis. the first ongoing series will by my own version of "save or splurge." when i come across great items, i'll share affordable and pricey options. so let's get started!

i recently met up with an old friend, and i couldn't stop staring at the gorgeous gold knuckle rings she was wearing. as soon as i got home, i started looking for my own set, and eventually found myself on an etsy site. i purchased a set of 8 rings (including an infinity ring, score!). they just arrived in the mail this week and i am super stoked to wear them around this memorial day weekend.

but for those looking for something more high-end, look no further than catbird's threadbare rings. they're super thin and glamorous, with a devoted fan base.

a summer filled with tiny gold rings all aglow is just what i need. don't be surprised if you spot me wearing them practically every day. after all, they'll pretty much go with anything!

Mint Green with Envy

i'm not the biggest fan of rihanna's edgy looks (which typically involve having her nipples on full display), but LOVING this springy combo of a mint green skirt (with pockets!) and silky blouse.

from the front, it's still risque, but i would totally rock this - you know, either buttoned or with a cami underneath. the pieces are both balmain, which in other words means "out of my budget", but i've shared some look-alike pieces below.

for the mint green skirt, i found two great options through lulu's, but unfortunately the first one's now sold out, bummer.

this is a second good option. love the shimmer!

lulus.com $39

this is a really fun blouse. and being multi-colored, it'll work with any colored skirt or pant

equipment printed silk blouse $218

these neutral high heels help keep the focus on the outfit, while making your legs look a mile long

aldo's $80

i need to pull this outfit together asap for date night with Z or a weekend brunch with the girls. gorgeous!!!
